Recognition programs honor top-performing KOA campgrounds for excellence in guest experience, performance, and brand leadership
Billings, Mont. — Kampgrounds of America, Inc. Together, the programs spotlight KOA campgrounds that exemplify excellence in guest satisfaction, performance, and brand engagement, reinforcing KOA’s commitment to raising the bar throughout the outdoor hospitality industry.
The KOA ICON Award, now in its second year, is granted to the top 10 percent of KOA campgrounds across North America. Recipients are evaluated using a comprehensive set of performance-based criteria, including year-over-year growth in registrations, engagement with KOA programs that support brand excellence, and strong Net Promoter Scores (NPS)—a widely recognized measure of guest loyalty and satisfaction used throughout the hospitality sector. The award recognizes campgrounds that consistently deliver superior guest experiences while actively contributing to the strength of the KOA brand.
Complementing the ICON Award, KOA’s World Class Guest Service designation honors campgrounds that achieved a Net Promoter Score of 70 or higher in 2025, placing them among the brand’s top-performing locations nationwide. This year, more than 300 campgrounds within the KOA system were awarded World Class Guest Service recognition.
“Exceptional guest experiences are created with consistency, care, and a deep understanding of what
today’s campers value,” said Toby O’Rourke, president and CEO of Kampgrounds of America. “The campgrounds recognized through our ICON and World Class Guest Service programs represent the very best of KOA. They lead with intention and deliver the kind of dependable, high-quality experiences that keep guests coming back and recommending KOA to others.”
These recognition programs reflect KOA’s broader, system-wide commitment to performance excellence and guest-centric hospitality. With a strong focus on measurable results, guest feedback, and brand participation, KOA continues to set industry benchmarks for quality and consistency across its network of campgrounds.
