KOA News Service (January 10, 2017) – Kampgrounds of America is pleased to announce that Kings Dominion’s Camp Wilderness is now the Richmond North/Kings Dominion KOA.

“We are fortunate to have many guests who visit us several times a year,” says John Dutton, who is the campground’s full-time manager. “We’re looking forward to having them see that all of the great things they’ve come to expect from us are still the same, but we now have the added benefit of being a KOA.”

Guests staying at the KOA campground will also be able to purchase admission tickets to Kings Dominion at a discounted rate.

The Richmond North/Kings Dominion KOA spans nearly 40 beautifully wooded acres and incorporates 268 guest sites. This includes spacious RV Sites that accommodate everything from pop-ups to big rigs. Guests also love booking a stay in one of the park’s Deluxe Cabins, which offer private baths, a kitchenette, television and full linen service. A variety of Tent Sites are also available. Fire rings are available at every site.

Amenities include a sparkling swimming pool, courts for volleyball, basketball and tether ball, horseshoe pits, a pavilion and more. A complimentary shuttle is available to Kings Dominion, located just a short drive away, and the campground’s on-site store stays open until after the park closes to accommodate guests in the evening.

“One of the things our guests love is our hand-dipped ice cream,” John says. “It’s one of the first things they ask for when they come into the Lodge. They sit on the porch, chatting and reminiscing. It’s a good feeling to see them being brought together.”

Located at 10061 Kings Dominion Boulevard in Doswell, the Richmond North/Kings Dominion KOA is one of 490 open-to-the-public KOA campgrounds in the Kampgrounds of America system in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to individuals and families, the campground welcomes larger groups, including family reunions and corporate events. It is open year-round.
