CWRV Transport, one of the largest manufacturer-to-dealer RV transport services in North America, has announced a new initiative to help support KOA Care Camps for Children with cancer.

Care Camps is a system of 129 specialized summer camps located throughout North America that provide a week long summer camp experience to children with cancer and their siblings. The Care Camps charity was created in the early 1980s by the Kampgrounds of America Owners Association, and is supported through the fundraising efforts of KOA campground owners, Kampgrounds of America Inc., and several major camping and RV industry sponsors.

CWRV Transport is the exclusive recreational vehicle delivery service for Camping World stores in 36 states, providing swift transport of new RVs from manufacturers to retail dealer outlets.

Rob Jackson, President of CWRV Transport in Elkhart, Indiana, said this week that CWRV Transport will be making a monthly donation to KOA Care Camps for Children With Cancer based on the total number of “dispatch miles” driven by each CWRV driver.

“I told my staff at our very first meeting together that I wanted to align our company with a charity that promotes ‘giving back,'” Jackson said. “It is very important to me that we do all that we can to give back to those in need. And who needs our help more than these children? We feel blessed to have the opportunity to really impact the lives of those in need.”

Jackson said CWRV Transport will be presenting a check this week for $10,000 to former Care Camps Trust Chairman Hope Perkins. Perkins is also the owner of the Elkhart County/Middlebury KOA Holiday.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome CWRV Transport as a new donor partner for Care Camps,” said current Care Camps Trust Chairman Wade Elliott. “Since the cost of sending just one child to a Care Camp for one week can be nearly $2,000, it’s important to have dedicated partners such as CWRV to ensure we are always able to offer the camps at no charge to these deserving families.”

Elliott said The Care Camps Trust welcomes participation from all segments of the camping and RV industry in helping send children with cancer to camp.
