KOA News Service (June 20, 2017) – Occupancy at the neary 500 KOA Campgrounds in North America over the recent Father’s Day Weekend was up nearly 2 percent over last year, according to numbers released by Kampgrounds of America Inc.

The increase continues a record trend for KOA campgrounds in 2017. Occupancy for KOA’s Care Camps Big Weekend in May were up 4.5 percent while occupancy for this year’s Memorial Day Weekend were up nearly 5 percent. 

Looking ahead, advanced reservations for the Fourth of July holiday are showing occupancy up about 10.3 percent and Labor Day Weekend occupany for 2017 is running about 23.5 percent over the same period for advanced reservations in 2016.

Overall, 2017 KOA camping thusfar is up more than 4 percent over the total for 2016 at this time. KOA is currently on track for its sixth record year in a row over it’s 55-year history.

 

Kampgrounds of America is celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2017. The world’s most popular family camping was born on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962. KOA currently has nearly 500 locations throughout North America.
